These Appalachian Hills Are at Their Best in the Fall

Pardon if I seem a little muddled. I slept restlessly last night, probably because of something to do with the barometric pressure and my divinely predetermined astrological destiny. It definitely couldn't be because I had a hot chocolate and went down a Wikipedia rabbit hole about cult deprogramming a mere 15 minutes before tucking myself into bed. It's a glamorous life, but someone has to live it. I would have had a cup of tea, but I didn't have any, and I would have read A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man or something, but I didn't want to. So, I had hot chocolate and high-anxiety pulp history. That's just the way the crumble crumbles sometimes!

Today we're looking at everything from the wonders of the West Virginia Appalachian hills in the fall to tips on wine refrigeration to the "best places to live in the US" to an opportunity from JetBlue to get $500 off your next trip to some tips on how to take some beautiful travel pics on your iPhone.

Now get out there and peep some leaves, for cryin' out loud! Time is of the essence.

The Northeast gets its fair share of credit for being a beautiful spot to sip a warming beverage and watch the leaves change. Meanwhile, beautiful spots like the Appalachians don't get enough credit. We have a whole bunch of reasons why it's a good idea to relish in the golden hues of seasonal change down in West Virginia this year. From expansive forests to food and brewery adventures in Morgantown to a relaxing stroll near some stunning waterways, West Virginia is an autumnal paradise.

FOOD & DRINK

As someone who usually drinks a glass of wine at home so slowly that it has turned into balsamic, I am not someone to trust with wine-chilling techniques. Luckily, you don't have to listen to me, because we have an expertly-researched article about how to keep your wine fresh, chilled, and delicious. If you've recently purchased a wine fridge, or you're just looking to understand more about how temperature affects wine, you'll definitely want to check out this article. I've learned a lot, and I am, frankly, ashamed of myself.

Money just released a report on the best places to live in the US, and I hate to break it to you, but heavy-hitters like Los Angeles and New York didn't even rank. Top of the list is—wait, I can't tell you that. That would defeat the whole purpose. You'll have to see for yourself to determine whether your hometown (or your dream hometown) made the cut.
