These Inclusive Outdoor Adventures Invite You to Hit the Trails

It's Labor Day Weekend! What are you doing this weekend? Here are my ideas: You could wander around Ikea doing a different monologue from a different Arthur Miller play in each of the pre-furnished rooms before sitting down to a feast of Swedish meatballs and sylt jordgubb (strawberry jam). You could find the most expensive cocktail in Manhattan and sip it slowly over the course of four hours, asking for a cup of ice hourly and if you can smoke cigarillos in the bar (even if they say no, ask again), and pay in quarters. You could drive to a friend's house unannounced, dressed up as a character from The Simpsons and sit in your car until they come out, then roll down the window and yell, "What took you so long?!" I'm just spitballing here.

Or you could just get some ideas from today's newsletter. We have airline fineprint to watch out for, waterfront seafood dining, Selema Masekela's day off in Venice Beach, the scoop on Labor Day weekend travel (it's gonna be bananas), and expert tips on taking travel pics on your iPhone.

I'll let you get to all your exciting weekend plans! Don't mind me!

Get out your reading glasses. If you read some of the fine print on these airline reservations, you might make yourself eligible for an upgrade or a hefty refund, or any number of perks of which you probably weren't aware. I wish I had thought to read the fine print when I was flying recently and the airport took me and my fellow passengers on a half an hour bus ride to an airplane that didn't seem to have been turned on yet, before leaving us to sit in the plane for two hours without food or water. How we laughed! I would love a refund…

Twitter was recently up in arms about a photo of people eating sushi on the beach, with one user writing, "Eatin' them in front of their family is crazy." Funny though that may be, eating dead fish in plain view of live fish is a time-honored tradition, and you can never take that away from us. Here are our favorite waterfront seafood restaurants—37 of them! From Kennebunk, Maine to San Diego, California, these are great places to chow down on some fish while staring out at gorgeous views of where they came from.

Sounds fishy to me http://static2.thrillist.com/_.gif

Selema Masekela is a professional surfer, skateboarder, snowboarder, sports commentator, and founder of America's first African surf shop, Mami Wata. In this week's installment of "My Day Off," he tells us about his favorite places to buy candles, pick up a ricotta crostini, surf, and hit up a speakeasy in Venice Beach, and he would know.

It's a truth universally acknowledged, that sometimes you take what you think is the most spectacular and evocative landscape/travel photo, only to look at it later and realize it's the most boring photo anyone has ever taken. We have all kinds of tips to help you transform your blurry oversaturated snapshots into stunners.
